In Louisiana the Department of Labor & Industries has cited the Department of Natural Resources for five serious safety violations after investigating the death of Samuel Gaydeski, a heavy equipment operator for DNR. The citation carries a possible penalty of $16,650. Gaydeski was found dead beneath his brush-cutter in February. He had been working alone on a logging clearing brush with a 314C Cat excavator that had an attached brush-cutting head. Lowe’s Employee Dies in Work-Related Accident

A South Carolina man was killed at a Lowe’s Home Improvement Store in south Charlotte on Sunday. Rock Hill resident, Richard Thomas Yoost, 35, died when a garage door struck him, according to Charlotte WCNC.com. Police said Yoost was standing under the door when it fell on him. He was taken to Carolinas Medical Center where he died Sunday morning. Investigators said Yoost suffered severe head trauma. A stunt double for the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark fell 30 feet on Monday evening during a preview of the show. According to USA Today, [Christopher] Tierney fell during a scene in which Spider-Man rescues his love interest, Mary Jane, but managed to land on his feet, the performer said.
