SC Construction Accident Injures Three

Pickens County SC Construction Accident Injuries 3, No One Killed

SC Construction AccidentIn the last week of January, a SC construction accident injured 3 people in Pickens County. Fortunately, no one was killed – the injured workers were sent to the hospital, although none had serious injuries.

The construction project is part of an ongoing expansion for the Carolina Point Young Life Camp, and is being built by First Victory Construction based in Kennesaw Mountain, Georgia. When the project is completed, the new facility will accommodate as many as 408 new campers. Carolina Point is part of a larger camp network with similar Christian-based camps across all 50 states.

Reportedly, the construction accident involved 3 workers who were pouring concrete on the third floor of the new building when the flooring gave way and they fell onto the second floor.

Travis Fowler, the president of First Victory Construction, was onsite when the construction accident happened and expressed his concern for the health and safety of his workers.

“At this point we don’t know what happened yet or what caused the flooring to fail,” Fowler said. “But the bottom line is we work hard every single day and this is a dangerous job and unfortunately sometimes people get hurt. This is a very dangerous job and we do all we can to keep each and every worker we have safe.”

Two of the workers who were injured in the SC construction accident were taken to the Greenville Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. They are expected to make a full recovery, and were not seriously injured in the construction accident.

“When something like this happens, we take it personally and want our people to feel safe and that they matter,” Fowler said. “We know our workers have families and kids and we want them to know we care and want to see them taken care of.”
